Every year, I tell myself this is the year I’m gonna chill at HeroesCon. And every year, I end up walking out with a bag full of goodies, a new candle, and at least one thing that makes me say “Oop, didn’t need that… but now I love it.”
This year marked my 10th year going to HeroesCon—which feels wild to say. A whole decade of navigating the same con floor, dodging cosplayers with massive props, and digging through $1 comic bins like a goblin on a mission. I’ve seen it grow, change, mellow out… and maybe this year, start to slow down?
Let’s break down the haul:
🛍 The Finds:
A “Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff” tote bag full of Copic markers that I now can't live without! I'm definitely buying more from Amazon

Return of the Jedi on VHS because you don't really own it unless its on VHS.

A plush Reptar, because I will never not love 90s Nickelodeon.

A handmade Sailor Moon amigurumi that is giving serious kawaii chaos energy.

A Tommy Pickles Funko Pop and a Ghostface one too!
Enamel pins galore, including Invader Zim and Buc-ee’s because I’m nothing if not niche.
A literal stack of comics taller than a toddler (because $1 bins are my weakness).

Bootleg superhero gold foil “dollars” that make me feel like I robbed a nerdy treasure vault.
A Grogu bobblehead that now watches me judge DoorDash orders from across the room.
Tales from the Crypt DVD season sets—because horror anthologies will always have me in a chokehold.
Honestly, the haul alone made the con worth it.
But here’s the real tea...
This year, HeroesCon was mid. Meh. Aight. Not as fun and boisterous as I remembered. Even last year seemed more poppin’. Idk, maybe people are starting to get like me: tired of it. It was fun, but also blah. Maybe it’s just me. Either way, that’s how I feel about it.
Even though I had an okay time, I bought some goodies as always!
