Digital Detox: Bye, Facebook!👋🏾

Lately, I’ve been feeling like my brain has too many tabs open—and most of them are filled with noise I didn’t ask for. The scroll, the drama, the endless opinions from people I haven’t seen since middle school… it’s exhausting.
So, I made a decision: I logged out of Facebook.
Not temporarily. Not for a weekend. I’m done.
Because honestly? That app hasn’t brought me joy in a long time.
The algorithm thrives on chaos. Every time I’d log in, I’d see someone oversharing, someone fighting, or someone spiraling in real time. And while I genuinely hope people find healing, I also know that I can’t be everyone’s emotional sponge. Facebook felt less like a social network and more like a digital energy vampire. So I unplugged.
And let me tell you—my peace came back IMMEDIATELY. I didn’t realize how often I was doom-scrolling out of habit until I replaced it with literally anything else. Reading. Journaling. Watching my comfort shows without a second screen in my hand. I even find myself bored again, which is a weirdly refreshing feeling.
Logging out wasn’t about being dramatic. It was about reclaiming my time, my energy, and my boundaries.
We are Protecting Our Peace in 2025. And that means letting some stuff go.
Will I miss some updates? Maybe.
Do I care? Not enough to stay plugged in.
And just like that, I closed the tab—for good.
So here’s to digital detoxes, mental clarity, and peace that doesn’t require permission. Facebook, it’s been… a lot. But I’m done. 💁🏾♀️✨
